18 hotels in 13 destinations all over Lapland and Finnish urban cities
Once-in-a-life experiences in 6 destinations in Lapland
THE MAGIC OF LAPLAND SINCE 1965
The Lapland Hotels story began with the Olos ski resort, which was opened by Arvo Yliniemi in 1965. There was just one ski lift, a campsite, a café and one man’s passion for skiing. From then on, providing genuine Lapland experiences has been the family business for generations. Lapland Hotels has grown into the largest private hotel chain in Finland, and is still owned by the Yliniemi family.
Today, our hotel, restaurant and ski services are complemented by a range of experience services, snowmobile and dog sled safaris, trips to see the Northern Lights, scenic biking tours, and in the summer, unforgettable experiences in the land of the midnight sun. Come and discover your own Lapland experience.
LAPLAND’S MOST COMPREHENSIVE HOTEL CHAIN
The chain consists of 18 hotels in 13 destinations all over Lapland and Finnish urban cities.
More than 2400 rooms and holiday apartments.
A selection of rooms, holiday apartments and cabins are available in most of our destinations.
Five ski resorts: Ylläs on the Äkäslompolo side, Olos, Pallas, Luosto and Ounasvaara – more than 70 slopes and 30 ski lifts.
OUR HOTELS IN LAPLAND
LAPLAND IS OUR HOME
THE MOST UNIQUE DESTINATIONS
Not only do we know Lapland, but we also live there.
The richness of our day-to-day business comes from unique characteristics of all the nine Lapland destinations within our portfolio. Kilpisjärvi offers rural experiences in the middle of the highest peaks of Finland, while Rovaniemi is the authentic city location with the history of Santa Claus.
EXPERIENCE EVERY SEASON
All our 13 hotels in Lapland are influenced by the region’s beautiful seasons. No matter which hotel you choose, you may either experience the nightless night of Lappish summer or the polar night highlighted by northern lights of Lapland’s winter. With a single step, you will find yourself in the heart of Arctic nature.
LAPLAND’S MOST FACINATING STORIES COME TO LIFE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY
Lapland Hotels’ city hotels in Oulu, Tampere, Helsinki and Kuopio represent modern Lapland at its finest. As you step inside our doors, we promise to make your stay pleasurable and help you find northern relaxation in the middle of the city.
We have poured our personalities and expertise to our hotels so that we could refine every detail, giving you the possibility to find the peace and experiences Lapland has to offer in the middle of a city’s bustling life.
COOL AND PURE EXPERIENCES SINCE 1982
Lapland Safaris are specialists in Lapland’s nature and the Lappish lifestyle. Since 1982, we have provided tourists visiting Lapland with exciting nature activities and memorable travel experiences. At the heart of our activities lies the culture of Lapland. We draw inspiration from the local history and day-to-day ‘Lappishness’. The stories and legends relating to these form the basis of the programme packages offered to our customers.
LEARN, TAKE PART, LAUGH
Lapland Safaris has high-quality standards for its products and its employees, in particular in safety issues. Lapland Safaris was awarded an ISO 9001 quality certificate in 2000 – the first event organisation agency in the world to receive one. In 2011, Lapland Safaris received the National Tourism Safety award. First in Lapland, and first in the business.
The principle “learn, take part, laugh” provides a guideline for our quality policy. Every guest is taken into the middle of the action to participate in and learn about new, interesting experiences – all in the spirit of good fun, of course. Guests get to conquer the wilderness of Lapland while knowing that they are safe at all times.
A WORLD OF ADVENTURES
We offer memorable and magical experiences all year round. The highlights of our winter trips include snowmobile safaris, reindeer and husky sledge rides, and excursions to admire Lapland’s unique natural light show – the Northern Lights. In the summer, you can enjoy Lapland’s outstanding nature, for example, by taking a cruise to a local reindeer farm.

OUR HEARTS BEAT FOR THE NATURE
The nature of Lapland is the most sensitive member of our team. We observe the principles of sustainable development and scale all of our activities according to the tolerance of the natural environment. We guide our guests to respect nature and to get close with it in a Lappish way, allowing them to enjoy their nature outing with a clean conscience.
CO 2 COMPENSATED
We operate in sensitive environment of arctic nature, and we look after it in all our activities. Providing carbon-neutral adventure services is our ultimate objective, and we have been taking steps toward that goal. We already use four-stroke-engine snowmobiles with the market’s lowest emission levels and we are offsetting all emissions from our snowmobile safaris without extra charge for our customers.
We have undertaken to offset all carbon dioxide emissions from our snowmobile safaris from 1 December 2019 onwards. We will offset our emissions by funding carbon sinks in collaboration with our partner Nordic Offset Oy. The funds will be targeted at Gold Standard-certified projects supported by WWF.
In addition to environmental values, ensuring animal welfare and customer safety plays a major role in our comprehensive corporate-responsibility programme. We participate in the Animal Welfare programme and have signed a collaboration agreement pertaining to the principles of sustainable nature tourism with Metsähallitus’s nature services. We also support the circular economy by charting the further use of machines and snowmobiles and by recycling them.
