Lapland Safaris Celebrates its 25th anniversary
Lapland Safaris has reached the mature age of 25 but it is still as playful as a child. We celebrated our anniversary without too much stiffness at Ounaspaviljonki pavilion and Poropirtti Cottage in the company of around 200 customers, partners and the Lapland Safaris’ team. Our thanks go out to everyone for these past 25 years!
In his speech marking the occasion, Jyrki Niva, Lapland Safaris’ CEO, said thank you 25 times and “if I’ve forgotten anyone, please accept my apologies and thanks.”
There was a moment of suspense during the speech given by Jaakko Lehtonen, the Director General of the Finnish Tourist Board: the gift table flags had not arrived in time. No worries – he rigged up a fine gift from candles and what’s more, he blocked off the wind while we lit them.
The programme included a pantomime about the Lapland Safaris saga, men’s gymnastics, music and dance. But without a doubt, the highlight was having fun with our guests who had come from England, Germany, Poland and different parts of Finland. Even Santa paid a visit.
We learnt, joined in and laughed. My, how we laughed!
